Deal or No Deal: Bankers Riches Slots

Deal or No Deal is the question Noel Edmunds asked six days per week after the game show first aired in October 2005 – a game show which became an instant hit with some of the highest ratings ever seen in daytime television and is still being produced. The popularity spawned a book, interactive DVD game, apps for mobile phones, and thanks to Endemol it is now one of the most popular online slots based on TV shows thanks to the bonus features on offer!

If you aren’t already of how Deal or No Deal works it sees 22 contestants join presenter Noel Edmunds, with one of the randomly selected to play the game. Each of the contestants has a numbered box (1-22) which has a cash value hidden inside (1p to £250,000). The player selected to play the game then has to play six rounds selecting boxes to reveal cash values which are then removed from the board, but after every round the banker rings the telephone in the studio to make an offer.

This offer is dependent on the values left on the board with higher prizes like £250,000 and £100,000 ensuring a higher offer than if they had been opened already. If the player accepts the offer they are guaranteed that amount but play on regardless, however if they are brave enough and go to the end they often get the choice to swap their box with the final remaining one held by a fellow contestant and win the value in the box they open.

Symbols from the Show

The Deal or No Deal logo is the Wild symbol and functions like most online slots as it substitutes for all other symbols apart from the Scatter. The Scatter is the famous telephone and can trigger three different bonus features (more on these below), which is joined by a gold box, the standard red box, a silhouette of the Banker, the ‘B’ symbolising the Banker’s envelope seal, the table in the studio with board in the background, pen and notepad which Noel uses to write down the offers, a cup, plus A, K, Q and J letters – with the J being the lowest valued symbol of all.

The Jackpot

The Jackpot Bonus feature can be triggered by landing three, four or five of the Bonus symbols and this plays out just like the game show – with a life changing prize up for grabs. You get to select a box and then select boxes to remove from the game. After six boxes have been removed the Banker rings to make you an offer which you can choose to Deal for, while No Deal sees you continue with four more offers made and should you take it down to the final two boxes you get the opportunity to switch boxes, with the box then opened to reveal your cash win!

The Reel Banker

The Reel Banker bonus feature can begin when you land three or four of the Bonus symbols on the reels. This grants you unlimited free spins which see all wins doubled, with the feature only ending once you land the Banker symbol on the third reel – working in the same way as the free spins mode on the Golden Balls slot machine. This offers the potential for huge wins, however it’s always very frustrating when the Banker symbol lands after just one or two spins.

The Banker’s Best Offer

Landing three or four Bonus symbols can also see the Banker’s Best Offer bonus feature begin which is essentially just an instant win, but the amount will depend on you. This sees the Banker offer you a maximum of ten offers which range in value from 1 to 20x your stake and sees you face a tough decision each time. If you reject a good offer and the next offers are smaller you cannot go back to the highest one – and should you reject all ten offers you are automatically rewarded the prize on the 10th offer.

It’s A Deal!

Deal or No Deal has become one of the most popular television game shows ever, and Endemol have done a fantastic job ensuring that this is one of the most popular slots based on game shows.

Set in the heart of the studio, Deal or No Deal: Bankers Riches makes use of the sounds from the show and use symbols which will be familiar to all fans, however it’s a little disappointing that Noel Edmunds who has played such a major part in the show’s success isn’t featured on the reels.

The bonus features are very rewarding though with my favourite being the Jackpot game which plays out just like you are a contestant on the show!
