321 Slot

Endemol are renowned for developing fantastic TV game show slot machines for online slots players, however some of you will never have heard of 321 as it is the older generation amongst you who will remember it – one of the most popular game shows of the 1980’s.

Originally created to run every Saturday on ITV for the summer of 1978, the 321 game show actually proved so popular that it ran for 10 years pulling in millions of viewers each and every week. Endemol have done a great job bringing the retro style of the show to the reels, with mascot Dusty Bin featuring, along with sounds that remind you of fruit machines, and just as there was three parts to the game show there are also three bonus features to enjoy.

The 321 online slot machine has a structure of 5 reels with 20 paylines, and as with most Endemol slots the range of stakes make it accessible for players of all bankroll levels. The minimum bet per line is £0.01 while the maximum is £25, meaning you can play all paylines from £0.20 up to £500 per spin!

Retro Symbols

The symbols in 321 hark back to the days when a Mini and box styled televisions were the norm for prizes – prizes which would be laughed at in this modern era.

The main symbol to look out for is the 321 game show logo which acts as Wild and substitutes for all other symbols apart from the three Scatters, plus any wins it is involved with are doubled. The three Scatter symbols feature Dusty Bin himself in various poses, with three fingers held up, a Mini, holiday, rubber dingy, scooter, set of glasses, television, and 321 game show cards making up the rest of the symbols you will encounter on the reels.

Eliminator Bonus

Three or more of the Eliminator Bonus Scatter symbols activates this pick ’em feature which is based on the 321 game show, offering you the opportunity to win cash amounts in place of luxury items.

You are presented with a round table with nine items on top of it and your task is to select five of them (or choose the autopick option to speed things up). The items are Barbed wire, old boat, book, Joker’s card, bundle of paper, bingo ticket, 40 old sixpences, Miner’s helmet, and a farmhouse loaf.

After each selection you will reveal a luxury prize or else Dusty Bin. Rather than you winning a holiday, car or sunbed you are provided with cash rewards, however should Dusty pop out the feature will end – you get to keep your winnings until that point though!

Dusty Bin Free Spins

This is my favourite feature in 32, probably due to it providing me with the biggest win while I reviewed the slot. It begins when you land three or more Dusty Bin Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels and sees you presented with 12 Dusty Bin’s on screen.

Your task is to select four of these in order to see the total number of free spins and multiplier you have earned. I especially loved that the free spins mode can be retriggered with the same number of spins and multiplier you triggered given to you when you land three or more Dusty Bin Scatter symbols playing the feature – unfortunately I never managed to do this.

Entertainer Bonus

For the Entertainer Bonus feature you need to land three or more of the Entertainer Bonus Scatter symbols. Here you must collect variety acts in order to complete the line-up of your very own 3-2-1 show, with the more variety acts you get resulting in higher prizes, although just like the Eliminator Bonus you need to try and avoid Dusty Bin!

Final Thoughts on 321

I’m actually too young to remember the 321 game show but after some research it is clear to see just how popular it was every week, and once again Endemol have done justice developing a fun and very rewarding online slot with three bonus features packed into it. My only criticism is that host Ted Rodgers hasn’t been included as a symbol on the reels as this would have been a fantastic tribute to the man who passed away in 2001.

Saying that, most of you will be more familiar with recent game shows and will prefer the Deal or No Deal slot or The Million Pound Drop slot instead – both of which also offer bonus features based on parts of the show.
